Mustafa Deryal stated that as a society that has missed the industrial revolution, Turkey faces a long road in order to catch up with developed countries, but believes that we are a nation capable of overcoming this if we work with perseverance.  Defending that the Turkish people have entrepreneurial traits, Deryal said, “A significant portion of the Turks who went to Germany in the 1960s without any qualifications succeeded in establishing businesses and becoming employers. They were even more successful as second and third generation business people. This, I think, is an achievement that needs attention. There is nothing that the Turkish society cannot overcome if wanted."

Prof. Dr. Metin Gürü started his speech by explaining the work done in the Ottoman Empire during the industrial revolution. Emphasising that important steps were taken in the name of industrialization with the establishment of the Republic, Prof. Dr. Gürü said, “Important decisions were taken at the İzmir Economy Congress. Modern farms were being established in order to improve domestic production. Textile, sugar, paper, glass and cement factories were established. MKE was activated for the defense industry. In addition, shoe factories and sewing shops were established. Iron and Steel factories were opened. İşbank was established and started its operations”. Prof. Dr. Gürü argued that the process of digital transformation continues in industry, and that science is the forefront of technology and innovation today.
