The 3^rd ASELSAN Academy Workshop, which was done online and hosted by our university, was completed after three days of sessions. The final session of the workshop was held on 4^th of November at the Mimar Kemaleddin Hall of our University. The session began with the reciting of the National Anthem after holding a moment of silence to pay tribute to Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his fellow fighters and for those who lost their lives in the earthquake in İzmir.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız began his speech by expressing that he is proud to host the 3rd ASELSAN Academy Workshop as Gazi University.Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız pointed out that ASELSAN Academy, which was created with the participation of four research universities, has strategic importance for Turkey. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Yıldız thanked chairman of the executive board of ASELSAN Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, Chairman of Academy Board of ASELSAN Prof. Dr. Mehmet Çelik and those who contributed to the workshop and wished success to the 40 students who graduated. Finally, our Rector wished god's mercy to those who lost their lives in the earthquake disaster in İzmir and immediate healing to the wounded persons.

Görgün:"ASELSAN Has Become Like the Campus of Four Universities"

Chairman of the executive board of ASELSAN Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün started his remarks by expressing the pleasure of giving the first graduates at the workshop that was hosted by Gazi University.Prof. Dr. Görgün, stating that ASELSAN is the most distinguished and spine company of our defense industry where information is in real terms transformed into economy and technology and R&D of all projects and systematics are applied to the defense industry. Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün said that "While there is a dimension of research and development in one aspect of academicism, from the other aspect there is another mission, to raise people who are favorable to society.”

Stating that Gazi University, METU, ITU and Gebze Technical University in ASELSAN Academy had the same excitement as ASELSAN, Görgün said, "We shaped ASELSAN Academy by signing protocols with two universities from Istanbul and Ankara within the framework of the four programs needed by ASELSAN. With the implementation of the Academy, our staff have begun to study with our instructors who were chosen by our university, their courses, thesis and projects. With the academy, projects were developed on subjects that our country needed. And today we are proud to produce our first graduates."

Görgün mentioned that the Academy and ASELSAN are like the campus of four research universities. "We have the highest quality and qualified facilities and laboratories in Turkey. With the Academy, our faculty members can now benefit from these facilities. Our instructors who are included in the academy continue to support us as part of the solution in the issues that ASELSAN wants to develop. Today we are reaping the first fruits of the academy. Görgün ended his speech by saying, “I would like to express my thanks again to those who contributed.”

After the speeches, the awards were presented to the graduating students. Our students who graduated from ASELSAN Academy, Ali Gökoğlu, Buse Özdemir, Gökhan Çelik, Muhammed Yalçın, Ömer Bahadır Acar and Ömer Er received their awards by our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız.

After the graduation ceremony, the winners of the ASELSAN Academy Thesis Award competition, which was organized for the first time in this workshop by ASELSAN Academy, were given their awards.
