Atatürk's Principles and History of Research Application Center organized a program for the 103rd Year of Çanakkale Victory.
The program, which was held on March 19, 2018 in the Rector's Office, Mimar Kemaleddin Hall, started with a documentary presentation on the Gallipoli War. Following the documentary screening, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Uslan made the opening speech.
Uslan, who started his speech by talking about the importance of history, said that history is the same as that of mankind. Prof. Dr. Uslan, who stated that people should look to the history to give direction to the future, expressed that the successes of the society, the weaknesses, the fears, the deficiencies and the harmonies of the societies are understood over time.
Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Uslan said that societies that show the will to live together and are united on the grounds of justice, have been able to stay on the stage of history for as long as they preserve the justice and common values stand behind them and they live in the honor of being a nation.
Expressing that our ancestors can hold different ethnic and religious identities together, Uslan stated that the basis of this civilization is founded on justice, effort and otherness. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Uslan, who said that this understanding which is spreading to the spirit of society has succeeded and brought social peace, pointed out to this point by saying: "When these values were lost as in every civilization; favoritism took the place of justice, inertia took the place of exertion, selfishness took the place of the otherness; then the state was weakened, the unity ceased to exist, the order was replaced by disorder, and the price was paid severely. "
Prof. Dr. İbrahim Uslan said that Çanakkale Victory was the result of sacrifice, perseverance and patience and Çanakkale Victory was the result of a nation's total effort to end the revelation. Uslan said: "Yesterday it was Çanakkale, today it is Afrin, tommorrow it is another place. Names change, but the struggle for the sake of the homeland will not change ".
Rector Uslan completed his words, emphasizing that every stage of the struggle given in Çanakkale should be well analyzed.
After Gazi University Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Uslan's speech, the panel whose the chairman of the session was Prof. Dr. Necdet Hayta from Gazi University Gazi Education Faculty Department of History Teaching started. Prof. Dr. Necdet Hayta said that the Battle of Çanakkale, which he described as a war worth of a world war, was a great struggle in terms of Turkish and world history.
