Turkish Brain Project Contract Signed Between Our University and the Presidency Digital Transformation Office

Director of the Presidency Digital Transformation Office Dr. Ali Taha Koç visited our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız.  During the visit, Dr. Ali Taha Koç was accompanied by Vice President Yavuz Demir Beyribey and Department Director Salih Yılmaz.                                                                            

The Turkish Brain Project Agreement was signed between Our University and the Presidency Digital Transformation Office during the visit which was attended by Rector Advisor Prof. Dr. Halil İbrahim Bülbül, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Şeref Sağıroğlu, Assoc. Dr. Alp Börcek and Faculty Member Dr. Emrah Çeltikçi. The agreement was signed at the ceremony by our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız and President of the Presidency Digital Transformation Office Dr Ali Taha Koç.                                                                        

Speaking at the ceremony, our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız said that as management, they attach great importance to projects. Stating that because Gazi University is among 11 research universities,  Prof. Dr. Yıldız emphasised that this cooperation is important and  said that the project is a first in the world.                                                                                    

Dr. Ali Taha Koç, on the other hand, stated that this project is the first collaboration between the Presidency's Digital Transformation Office and a university and said, "We wanted to work with a well-established university like Gazi University." Drawing attention to the importance of artificial intelligence, Dr. Ali Taha Koç said that this cooperation is a beginning in terms of new activities to be carried out between the two institutions.                                                                                 

The Turkish Brain Project Agreement was signed based on the cooperation protocol signed between the Presidency and Gazi University on 06 August 2020. Studies within the scope of the "Turkish Brain Project" will have an R&D quality. Within the scope of the Turkish Brain Project, studies to facilitate early-stage disease detection, decision support systems development, early disease prediction with big data analytics, detection and diagnosis of various anomalies from MRI and tomography images will be carried out with the help of intelligent algorithms and computer technologies.
