Event on Trade Cooperation and Internationalization in the United States and Mexico was held

An event on "Trade Cooperation and Internationalization in the United States and Mexico" was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade, Gazi Teknopark and our University Career Planning Application and Research Center. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız, Rector Advisor and Chairman Executive Board of Gazi Teknopark  Prof. Dr. Halil Ibrahim Bülbül, Head of The Department of Information, Software, Digital and Communication Services of the Ministry of Trade Hürol Karlı and Gazi Teknopark General Manager Dr. S. Tuğrul İmer gave the opening speeches of the event, which was held online on 16-17 of November.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız mentioned in his opening speech that the main purpose of the internationalization projects which are accomplished by Gazi Teknopark is to improve the competitiveness of Teknopark companies in global markets and to increase their capacity for internationalization on this occasion. Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız stated that training and consultancy activities accomplished within Gazi Teknopark have been continued since 2015 and that delegation visits to the USA, Canada, Taiwan and Sweden have been organized so far.

Stating that there has been an increase in the number of exporting companies and their export turnover Our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız  said "we assessed that it would be necessary and useful to organize an event for our companies that want to enter the U.S.A and Mexican markets. In this context, we will make every effort to ensure that the event achieves its fully planned goal. I hope our event will be completed successfully.

Rector Advisor and Chairman of Gazi Teknopark Board of Directors Prof. Dr. Halil İbrahim Bülbül gave information about Gazi Teknopark in his speech. Prof. Dr. Halil İbrahim Bülbül stated that Gazi Teknopark is hosting 132 companies and that 228 R&D projects are accomplished within the Teknopark. Prof. Dr. Halil Ibrahim Bülbül mentioned teknopark's internationalization efforts and described the aim of these studies as increasing the international competitiveness of companies. Prof. Dr. Halil İbrahim Bülbül said that their efforts to internationalize Gazi Teknopark also led to companies getting to know each other better and carrying out joint projects.

Hürol Karlı, who is head of the Department of Information, Software, Digital and Communication Services of the Ministry of Trade, began his speech by stating that Gazi Teknopark is one of the organizations they work with. Congratulating Gazi Teknopark, Hürol Karlı stated that they want to increase the number of companies exporting. Hürol Karlı emphasized that they attach great importance to the informtion and software sector and will give all kinds of support to the companies at this point. Karlı concluded his speech by thanking the management of our University for its contributions in organizing this program.

Gazi Teknopark General Manager Dr. S. Tuğrul İmer explained that gazi Teknopark has had a positive process since 2015. S. Tuğrul İmer stated that the efficiency of companies going abroad has also increased, and that companies have started to get to know each other better with their foreign delegations. S. Tuğrul İmer stated that they work abroad with local consultants and emphasized that they attach importance to internationalization.

In the event moderated by Washington P3 Innovation Strategies CEO Keith Segerson and Gazi Technopark Internationalization Coordinator Hazal Yılmaz, Washington DC Chief Commercial Counselor Mustafa Koca, T.C. Ahmet Yavuzhan Erdem, Commercial Attaché at the Consulate General of Houston, T.C. Ahmet Selçuk Nalbat from the New York Consulate General made a presentation on “Overview of the ICT Ecosystem in the USA”.

Fauquier County Economic Development Consultant Miles Friedman, Financial Eksen-GGI, Turkey, Strategic Management Consultancy and Director of Foreign Trade Services Ömür Kızılarslan touched upon the topic "How to Do Business in the United States" in his speeches.

Amazon Headoffice Software Development Manager Miray Kurtay, Roofstacks Inc. Chief Financial Officer Orhan Yücel, Tacettin Öztürk from  Lita Analytical a Gazi Teknopark company which exports to the United States and Abdulkadir Vardar who is CEO of Nanodems Company operating in the U.S.A , gave information on the topic "Success Stories of Turkish Entrepreneurs".

Perez Gongora Asociados Legal Director Ricardo Mendoza and Business Development Partners managing partner Tom Johnston discussed the issue"How to Do Business in Mexico."
